Quality, quiet and including a missing link!
In online reviews, a number of people have said that KMC chains are noisy, but they aren’t. Both this one and the one on my city bike are extremely quiet. So quiet, in fact, that you can’t hear the chain whilst cycling. If you do hear it, it’s because of: A) Incorrect chain length B) One or both derailleurs being incorrectly adjusted C) Incorrect chain lubrication (liquid wax or hot wax is quiet) It comes with a sticky factory wax on it; the best way to remove this is by: - Soaking the chain in turpentine for a few hours - Then wiping it down thoroughly with a cloth and cleaning it with alcohol or bioethanol. - Leave it to dry for a few hours whilst hanging on a clothes horse - Only then should you apply hot wax or fit the chain and apply liquid wax. I’m a fan of KMC chains. They also come with a missing link, which is always a nice touch. Tip: make your life easier and buy a missing-link plier if you regularly need to remove the chain for cleaning or hot waxing etc. – it’s 10 times quicker with the pliers.
Pros & Cons

A durable product that’s ready to use straight out of the box and doesn’t disappoint.
The chain is quieter than expected and works perfectly well as supplied (with the factory-applied wax). It feels sturdy despite the lateral play required for the 10-speed cassette, and thanks to the materials used to make the chain, it should last longer than standard chains.

top necklace
A lovely, light chain – it does come with quite a lot of grease on it, so if you’re using wax, make sure you degrease it thoroughly,

A reliable chain
A good, reliable chain, easy to fit thanks to the missing link.

Fine necklace, highly recommended
Chain bikes and shifts well and does not rust if it gets wet as it is aluminium.
